Ever wonder what the first computer hard drive looked like? Neither did we, but sometimes you just happen to stumble upon cool stuff, like this photo from 1956 of the first computer hard drive ever, the IBM 305 RAMAC… It maxed out at 5 megabytes of memory and weighed over a ton. A ton! Not what we’d call portable, but looks like they wanted to use it on a PanAm flight.. As Snopes.com said, makes you appreciate your 4GB USB drive doesn’t it?! Check it out:
